- Click Start.
- Go to Settings and click Control Panel.
- Double click on Network.
- Select Configuration tab and click Add button.
- Select Protocol and click Add button again.
- Under Manufacturers select Microsoft. Under Network Protocols select TCP/IP.
- Click OK until you get back to the Control Panel window.
- Double click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Windows Set-up tab and double click Communications.
- Check the Dial-up Networking box and click OK.
- Click Apply, and then OK to close the window.
